This quote from The Book of Life perhaps changes the very dimension from which we perceive passion

In your being, when you are actually in yourself — your whole being — your mind just cannot contain the joy that it has been blessed with.
So joy is just dripping over, and you are totally wet.
That wetness is passion.
Let’s get back to the question:
Do you choose passion?
I think not. You don’t choose.
Passion is not something that has to be done for profit or to fulfill inner completeness.
Here, inner completeness comes first — not by force,
but when we really understand that we are complete.
We don’t have to struggle for inner completeness.
Understand this deeply — in the blood — not just by logic.
Logic only goes to a particular point.
Where logic ends, there is the beginning of faith —
not superstition and all that.
We always feel inner incompleteness.
Due to this, the movement of something that is supreme intelligence, timeless, eternal, beautiful — doesn’t come into being.
Now, the question is:
How to understand that this inner incompleteness is illusion?
Not the other way — that we have to feel intentionally that we are complete in ourselves.
Just understand:
Our eagerness to do something in the world that we have projected — yes, projected —
the world is your projection.
Not physically, but psychologically.
This shows our incompleteness.
Just observe —
the moment when you identify yourself with anything,
the limitation begins in you.
This limitation is incompleteness.
When you understand this,
then this understanding flowers intelligence,
not intellect.
That is inner completeness.
Passion is not choosing.
Instead, when we are so complete —
or when you are in such intimate contact with the Total —
that your cup starts overflowing…
Then, that overflowing is passion.
That passion chooses itself —
through which it expresses.
Passion is intelligence.
Art is passion —
either singing, dancing, painting, etc.
These are expressions through which intelligence expresses itself.
Those who choose — they just perceive profit, nothing more than this.
If you find attraction toward something,
don’t perceive it only with profit, fame, and all that nonsense stuff.
When you do that, you are craving for completeness.
And remember — passion begins from completeness.
You are resisting the expression when you are trapped in nonsense.
You are grateful when you perceive something that is intelligent,
extraordinarily beautiful,
always fresh — comes into your being.
And that beauty, that freshness, that love —
expresses from you.
Yes, you.
Just observe the sacredness, eternity.
When this movement begins from you —
not you do the movement —
movement becomes the expression of passion, beauty, love.
This movement is the movement of compassion —
that is, you are not competing with anyone.
You are not in the race.
You are in the movement of companionship.
That is where compassion flowers —
which is not sentimentality, emotionality, and all that.
This is something where there is no division —
that is, you perceive yourself in others also,
not perceive yourself through others.
If you perceive yourself through others, then it is your limitation.
Whereas the other — that is, when you perceive yourself in others also —
there is oneness, sacredness, a timeless movement —
which is eternity.
